Jim GORING.  Jim brings a commitment to excellence in design, and a real joy in working with passionate people to our practice. Jim is particularily adept at working with complex public and cultural user groups are typical in the projects Jim directs. His infectious energy and openness are evident in his work with involved stake holders, and he enjoys finding the kernel of valuein a difficult situation that can give a public project direction and legs. Jim developed a profound respect for the land as an associate at the late William Turnbull’s office in San Francisco.


That respect includes a commitment to sustainable design principles that begins with common sense (often overlooked in search of the big idea), and extends to embrace the promise of materials and energy technologies that can help our buildings live more lightly on the earth. Jim brings a depth of commitment to excellence that has been recognized by numerous design awards.​​

André STRAJA.  André has lead Goring & Straja’s competition efforts, winning commissions for housing, resort, cultural, and commercial projects with rigorous designs that create compelling visions with clear ideas and dynamic spaces. A member of the Aia and registered as a licensed architect both in Texas and California, André’s experience in both architectural and interior projects spans over 25 years. André holds a B.A., and B. Arch from Rice University. Prior to founding Goring & Straja he worked with gensler & associates in Houston and San Francisco, William Turnbull and associates in San Francisco and he was creative director of studios architecture (Paris), an international firm with offices in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, and Paris and Antonio Citterio. André is renowned for his expertise in workplace design, interiors in general and new office building construction. André brings extraordinary drive to our work, and a commitment to meaningful collaboration with our clients.​​​

Goring and Straja studio was established in 1996, with offices in Milan, Rome and San Francisco. Firm activity ranges from architecture to interior design, providing integrated solutions to national and international clients. Managed in Italy by Andrè Straja, Giacomo Sicuro and Lenka Lodo, the group has developed, through the years, an impressive client list, including: Microsoft, Generali properties, Babcock&Brown, British American Tobacco, Vodafone, Pricewaterhouse&Coopers, Tiffany, Burberry, Fendi, Axa, Fnac, Haworth, First Atlantic, Nexity, Altarea, CBRE, Aedes, Sara, Coca Cola, and others. As of today the group's workforce consists approximately of 30 people, including partners, collaborators and employees.


Partner of GaS studio, is one of the most prominent figures of the studio. Lenka is part of the team since the creation of GaS Architects in 1997 and became a partner in 2010.

As a marketing manager oversees the management and development of new business and takes care of all customer contacts, also follows the administration of the company.​​​


Giacomo is an architect with over 20 years of experience, sensitive to issues of design and management. His research comes from the study of applied arts, sculpture in particular, configures the approach to all the themes of architecture and industrial design. Since 1999, he is in team with Goring&Straja Studio and he became partner in 2008. In 2011 he founded O.I.L., parallel universe of Goring & Straja Studio with the idea of exploring the transversality of different disciplines related to the design and image. The deep knowledge of the use of materials and technologies has enabled him to follow a number of challenges in the production of products for design firms.
